BOMA Denver Coffee Chat: City of Denver Auto Theft Prevention Training

Thursday, February 5, 2026 (9:00 AM - 11:00 AM) (MST)

Description

Auto theft continues to be a growing concern for parking facilities across Denver and throughout Colorado. To support the parking industry, the Denver Police Department, in collaboration with the Colorado Auto Theft Prevention Authority (CATPA) and Denver Metro BOMA, will host a free Auto Theft Prevention Training for parking lot and parking garage operators and employees.

This training is open to all parking operators citywide, including ownership, contracted management companies, supervisors, and line-level staff. Participation from CBD & LoDo parking lot and garage representatives is strongly encouraged.

The training will be presented by Technician Kayla Knabe with the Denver Police Department and Cale Gould, CATPA Representative.

Topics will include:

  • Current auto theft trends impacting Colorado and the Denver metro area
  • How CATPA partners with law enforcement and communities
  • Best practices parking operators can implement to help prevent auto theft and influence patron behavior
  • Grant funding opportunities and statewide partnerships available to parking operators

This event is designed to encourage broader engagement across the parking industry. Both BOMA members and non-members are welcome to attend.
